My Thoughts: This is the first book that I've read in the Roland March series and it was completely fine as a stand alone. I didn't feel like I was missing large pieces of the story the way you sometimes do when you're coming in at the middle of a series. However, it is such a well written story that I can't wait to read the others. J. Mark Bertrand weaves the pieces of the mystery together in just the right way to keep you hanging on without giving away the conclusion.
